Run by locals, for locals.

The Yarra Junction Community Group is an incorporated, volunteer-run organisation.

How the group operates.

Our committee is made up of local members who volunteer their time to help guide the group’s activities and projects. Committee roles include:

  • President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • General committee members

Meetings & AGM

The committee meets monthly on the third Thursday evening in Yarra Junction.

An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held once per year.

  • All members are invited to attend the AGM
  • Members can nominate themselves (or others) for committee positions
  • We aim to keep meetings welcoming, practical and community-focused — and yes, we keep the formal business part short.

Yarra Junction Community original concept drawing

Capturing the essence of our Community Group

This original concept artwork for the Yarra Junction Community Group was created by Malcolm Cormack and inspired by Yarra Junction, its people and the surrounding landscape.

Elements of this artwork have been incorporated into the group’s logo, reflecting our connection to place, community and shared stories.

Malcom described his drawing and inspiration.

“Three tall trees stand in quiet welcome at the entrance to Yarra Junction. A place of beautiful landscapes and a people with a strong community spirit.  The logo of the town’s Community Group celebrates this coming together of place and people. A story that begins with First Nations people, custodians of country. Followed by European settlers, who established a thriving timber industry. Today a creative mix of ages and birthplaces. Preserving strong ties with the natural landscape, the best stories of the past and shared hopes for the future.”
