What a great afternoon and evening we had on Saturday 20th December 2025 in the grounds of the Yarra Centre!

We were blown away by the big brassy Eastern Ranges Brass Ensemble. Georgia Page, a crowd favourite, got us all into the Christmas mood whilst Ben Wynne impressed with his original songs and Peter Wilson touched us with a poignant performance.

There was a wonderful community spirit as Christmas carols were sung by all, led by the Yarra Junction Community Choir created especially for this event.

Special thanks to Debbie Wilson in our craft’s tent for coming up with some very creative items for kids to make that kept that team busy for 3 hours (2 hours longer than anticipated!) and to Melissa Page and her team for the artistic and beautiful face painting.

The event was well supported by children, families, friends, retirees and dogs, many sporting fabulous Christmas attire that added to the festive atmosphere.

We were well fed by Rotary, who cooked and cooked delicious sausages until the grand finale, when Father Christmas made a lightning stop-over to our event. He was mobbed by excited children and adults alike as he alighted from the back of a 1953 Chevy Ute whilst his reindeers were eating a few carrots around the corner

Thank you to all our volunteers; organisers, performers, crafters and helpers.  Thank you to all the wonderful Yarra Junction businesses who donated to the event and to the Yarra Ranges Council for their support.
A fantastic community event. Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! We look forward to an even bigger Community Carols Event in 2026.
